A black plaid shirtdress with tights & booties is today’s highlighted outfit. The truly glorious thing about the simple shirtdress is that it’s so adaptable. You can leave your legs breezy and free when it’s warm out, and then turn to tights or leggings and boots once it gets chilly. Versatile pieces are the best! (And if you’ve seen my previous posts, you know how much I love loose, flowy tops with tights or leggings).

The black plaid shirtdress I’m wearing here is mainly neutral, but has some fun lines of red and blue running throughout. I decided to accentuate this with a natural-looking stone necklace that shares some of the same colors. I’m really starting to love jewelry more and more; sometimes an outfit just needs a little something extra, and a nice bracelet or necklace can add that desired oomph.
Since it was chilly out (but not freezing), I wore my favorite grey tights and Old Navy ankle booties. This hat is a rescue from the back of my closet that I decided to have some fun with, and I’m really glad that I rediscovered it!
Finally, I typically don’t wear much in the way of makeup, but in these shots I’m wearing Buxom matte-gel lip stain in Sinful Cinnamon (HIGHLY recommended), along with a light dash of Sephora-collection eyeliner.
