True Urban Culture turned up the heat this Valentine’s Day with the TUC 2019 Masquerade Met Gala at Believe Music Hall. If you aren’t familiar with True Urban Culture, they’re a magazine that aims to highlight the beauty and grit that urban culture offers, including art, trends, fashion, and more.

The event included music and mingling, along with a fabulous fashion show featuring designers Adam Wen and Tyra Hart. Adam Wen’s looks were absolutely stunning. Several pieces gave me a Medieval-meets-Matrix vibe, which I absolutely loved! You can check out his work on Instagram. Tyra Hart showcased designs from her previous collections “Awakening” and “Haunted Dolls,” both of which celebrate the sometimes-playful, sometimes-fearsome edges to femininity.

In fact, I’m wearing the “Arc” dress from the Baby Doll phase of Tyra Hart’s Haunted Dolls! Something pretty and pink was just what I needed after a long day working on set. (Side note: this dress will be available for rent on her website soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for that)!

Since I ended up attending the TUC 2019 Masquerade last-minute, I didn’t have a masquerade mask handy; luckily, the VIP seating had masks provided. Unluckily, I wasn’t wearing my contacts at the time… so I ended up embracing the silliness and wearing my glasses over my mask. Next time, I’ll be sure to invest in a good mask; or maybe I’ll make one myself, since I love DIY projects so much!

Later this month, True Urban Culture will hold their Fashion Week 2019, entitled “Visionaries of Tomorrow.” The 2019 Fashion Week begins on Friday, May 24th. It will feature fashion designers such as Jyuri Lee, 6 Feathers, Adam Wen, Etizaz Abdulrahem. TUC Media has tickets for this Atlanta fashion show on sale now! Will you be there?

xoxo,

Raine
