Doggies on the Catwalk 2017

This past Saturday marked the 10th year of Doggies on the Catwalk, a local charity fashion event  by fashionado benefiting Canine Assistants. Canine Assistants is a non-profit organization for service dog training, and y’all… the puppies actually walk the runway with the human models! I was in dog heaven. The event was held outdoors at the Shops Buckhead Atlanta, where the weather vacillated between breezy sunshine and rain. A little fickle weather couldn’t stop this fashion show for a cause, though!

I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on this dress, which believe it or not, is actually from Amazon. I was a little worried about buying a dress from Amazon, but this brand had pretty good reviews and I loved the way it looked, so I decided to get it and return it if it didn’t meet my expectations. I’m actually thinking of buying another one in a different pattern! (It was under $35 and Prime eligible, so shipping was free). And of course, I had to accessorize with my Kate Spade watch and bag, because I’m a Kate Spade addict!

Since I was there to support my friend Tyra of Tyra Hart Designs, I got the chance to see a lot of the behind the scenes preparations for Doggies on the Catwalk! I also realized, yet again, that I am incredibly short. Spending all day around beautiful, tall women in super high heels will do that for you, I’m afraid.

Another highlight of Doggies on the Catwalk, aside from the amazing fashions and the actual doggies, was seeing so many Atlanta instagrammers in real life! It’s kind of a weird (but cool) feeling when you see someone you follow online in person for the first time. ATL ladies, I want to meet more of you sometime!

For a perfect end to the evening, I wound up at Shake Shack and *may* have pigged out a little (my excuse is that it was my first Shake Shack experience, and I couldn’t very well say no to bacon ranch cheese fries). Verdict: I’ll definitely be back!
