4 Tips for Attending Taste of Atlanta

4 Tips for Attending Taste of Atlanta | Raine In The City

Before we get started, let me say one thing: if you’ve never been to Taste of Atlanta, you NEED to go! This was my second time attending Taste of Atlanta, and I can assure you that I’m already planning to buy tickets for next year. Here are a few tips to have a great time and get the most bang for your buck at Taste of Atlanta!

1. Buy Your Tickets Early

If you think you may be going to Taste of Atlanta next year, go ahead and follow one of their social media channels right now. When advance tickets go on sale, get them. That way, you’ll get a discounted rate (more food for less money)! Advance tickets for 2016 were only $25… that’s a pretty great deal.

2. Scope Out the Taste of Atlanta Website

Taste of Atlanta is a three-day event! As the food festival draws near, you can check out the schedule of restaurants (some will have their event menus posted if you’re the type who likes to plan ahead). Plus, you can check out the schedule of events and see which cooking demonstrations you want to check out.

3. Spend Your Taste Points Strategically

Before I attended Taste of Atlanta for the first time, I’d heard someone mention that they didn’t get enough to eat, and that you’d have to spend extra just to get full. I humbly disagree- I’ve left Taste of Atlanta two years in a row now completely stuffed and satisfied. However, I do see how it may be possible to run out of Taste Points if you go for all the small, higher-priced items first. We like to spend our Taste Points strategically. Walk around and take a look at portion sizes before you start choosing your bites. We always start with heavier foods and work our way towards the delicacies as the day goes on.

4. Don’t Forget the Samples!

There are so many vendors at Taste of Atlanta with fantastic samples, and that’s another reason that I believe it’s totally worth the ticket price. We didn’t have to buy a single beverage while we were there; Coke, Bai, Nespresso, and more were there with samples and smiles. You’ll seriously need a bag to carry home all your freebies. My favorite samples/freebies this year were wooden cooking spoons from Ragu & Wickles Pickles’ Dirty Dill Spears. And of course, you have to chill at the Coke tent for a while… in addition to actual Coca-Cola samples, they also have mocktails, a photo booth, and fun dance tunes (reliving all those high school dances, haha).
